Born and raised in South East London, Steven Olugbenga Eniraiyetan’s passion for the arts was discovered at a young age. Experiencing his first taste of performance as part of the choir in his father’s church, where he sang, played the drums and bass guitar. During this time, he also developed his passion for dancer and soon started choreographing shows in his local community and youth group. Steven has been working in the film industry for the past 8 years as an 1st Assistant Director on feature films and high-end TV, with credits including Netflix series Bridgerton, and the forthcoming Amazon Prime series, Anansi Boys starring Academy-Award winner Whoopi Goldberg and Delroy Lindo. Steven is now transitioning into directing where he can truly express his passion for telling stories through music, dance and movement. Steven most recent project A Warrior’s Dance is in conjunction with NFTS and the Amazon Studios. This film follows the life of a 14-year-old British Nigerian Tobi, whose life is forever changed when presented with an opportunity to perform in his school's cultural show. Does Tobi use this opportunity to stand up for himself and follow his dream of becoming a dancer? Or does he listen to his traditional father Baba, who is fighting for Tobi to take a more academic approach to his future. This film is based off Steven’s personal story and his relationship with his father.
